Soggy Photos: The World of Underwater Photography

Underwater photography does not need to be tricky -- all you need to know is a few tricks and you will able to take underwater photography like a pro. There are many underwater photography advices and tips that will make sure that you too can have exceptional photographs.

Five Steps to Success:

1. The right camera - First and foremost, you should have the right camera in your hand when you plan to go for underwater photography. The camera should not only be completely water proof, it should also be as much as possible shockproof as the most accidents in and around the water will have your camera dumped somewhere or other.

2. The time - If you are serious about some good underwater photography shots, then you should aim to shoot during the day when the light is at its best -- between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is the time when the sun can penetrate the water to give you the best results.

3. Get close-ups, not wide-angle pictures - In order to get the best underwater photography shots, you will need to take the photographs up front and close-up as you can without losing track of the overall picture. Your aim should be bringing the attention of the onlooker to your subject without sacrificing the overall background.

4. Compensate for possible loss of color - In underwater photography colors can seem dull. Hence, you will need to brighten those shadows; the best and easiest way to do this is by using your flash each and every time you take an underwater shot.

5. Make it different - Do not always go for the run-of-the-mill angles. Try to take underwater photography with silhouettes, keeping in mind that the sun should be behind you at the time of the photograph.

The above five points will help you in getting some great underwater photography shots with the least possible effort. Actually, you will find that this type of photography is great when you look at both results and satisfaction derived from the work. Many people start underwater photography as a hobby and then get so badly hooked that they change careers to pursue photography.
