Persian rugs however, are not only used for the floors but also for the walls as well depending on the design and size. Persian rugs were and will always be in high demand because of their design, color combination, styles and elegance.

Persian rugs in our history date back to the 16th century as the only existing physical evidence is from the Safavid dynasty, Persia. However, archeologists believe that they were being manufactured long before that but the material did not survive the time. Classic styles never die and that definitely applies to Persian rugs, which are eternal with their intricate mystique design in vivid colors that will brighten up any room; but, vivid colors are not the only types of Persian rugs that you can get, they come in elegant pastel tones as well to match any décor, furniture and enhance the beauty of the room.
You can match a Persian rug with a classic and/or modern design for they can be as simple or as intricate as you desire; to shop for one you need to go to specialized retail stores where you should request a certificate of authenticity and a guarantee for the material used as well as its origin.
Maintenance And Care
Persian rugs need to be treated as pieces of art; if cleaned at home ensure you have soft detergent that is friendly to the material it is made from (wool or silk) as well as ensure that the detergent does not contain any bleach at all as it will ruin your rug leaving ugly patches behind. The best way to clean such a rug is to take it to hire dry cleaners that will use special vacuum cleaners with dry chemicals thus, saving your precious rug from any damage that may come from water or any type of detergent.
Vacuuming a Persian rug should also be done with care as if you use a harsh brush you can remove wool threads, which in time will create a bald spot however, if you maintain your rug with the proper care as indicated at the time of purchase, it will be handed down a few generation.
