A Navajo rug is woven by Indians or Native Americans from the illustrious tribe located in the Southwest of the United States. These rugs have a distinctive and beautiful design that has made them a perfect centerpiece to beautify a room. A Navajo rug is made on one of the reservations that is located in Arizona, New Mexico or Utah. Many of the Navajo people who currently weave these wonderful rugs learned from their parents the process for producing rugs in the traditional designs. An authentic Navajo rug is made out of pure wool that is also spun and dyed by hand. There are some cotton rugs sold to tourists as genuine, but these rugs are not authentic.
