Knitting Socks
Dryer Fires ' Is Yours Ready To Ignite Knitting Socks - A Sure Sign Of Impeding MotherhoodIn recent years there has been many rumours about dryers catching on fire. Should we be concerned' Yes of course. We should take seriously anything that may put our family at ..... I had always been amused by the fact that all would-be mothers, the moment they learn that they were expecting, would bring out their knitting needles and start knitting socks for the baby. In cartoons, in movies (I am referring to old movies) and sometimes, even in real life. It was as if the first thing that the baby will wear as soon as he/she was born, would be socks! Knitting Socks For The Baby Made Me Jealous When my mother found that she was pregnant with my sister, she too started knitting socks. I was not amused then. I was 9 years old, and I was not sure I wanted anyone else to share mum and dad' s love. The fact that mum was already thinking and spending time for the new baby filled me with apprehension. To tell the truth, I felt a good measure of jealousy, too. I do not know if I would have felt the same if mum would have not started knitting socks, but she did, and from that time onwards, I almost hated the new arrival. This happened when mum was expecting three months. When she completed her seventh month, my birthday came, and I remember mum giving me a tiny box wrapped in bright red paper with happy birthday to you' written all over it. Family Fun Is Swimming In A Safe Pool Family fun is one of the most important things you can strive for to give your children some lasting memories they will always cherish; even into adulthood. Your children will always remember the times you ..... I opened it carefully and found inside two very beautiful pairs of woolen socks. They were exquisitely knitted and I fell in love with them instantly. I also realized in that instant that mum still loved me. After all she knitted socks for me, too! From then on, her knitting socks for the new baby did not bother me so much. The day that my sister was born was a day on which it snowed the first time that year. It was just five days before Christmas and the first snow filled everyone with joy. And that was what we called her, Joy' . I still remember seeing her for the first time, ugly, wrinkly and totally red. In spite of that I felt an overwhelming urge to hold her close and protect her from the world, from everything. This is how Joy came into my life. I have been blessed many times over during my lifetime. But Joy has always been, from day one, the best blessing that God bestowed upon me. Ever since that day, when we named her till today, 39 years later, there is not one day that passes when I do not thank God for my sister. |
