Many people have started to take up this hobby looking for peace and relaxation only to find out that there are so many details to remember that it' s easy to get frustrated. When growing a bonsai tree, you should remember to keep the soil at a constant level of moisture and replace any soil that gets washed out with specific bonsai soil. Regular potting soil will damage your tree. Growing a bonsai tree can be difficult specifically because the tree can maintain its healthy look long after the roots have been damaged beyond repair. Then by the time you' ve discovered the damage to the roots, it' s too late to do anything about it.

Many people will tell you that you should use nothing but organic fertilizer for your tree and some people will tell you that chemical fertilizer is the best way to go. There is no agreement amongst those that are growing a bonsai tree and so you should experiment and go with what works best for you.

You should repot your bonsai tree about once a year. The best time of year to do so is when the tree is at its peak health, which usually occurs around springtime. When your tree becomes older you can wait longer between pot transfers and only repot your tree once every two years.

Before undertaking this hobby though, you should really talk to a professional and learn how to properly care for your tree and how to tend to it properly.
